Sermon #1 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men -
[In ten seconds, go!]: Mark 1:17: Here Jesus is inviting all of us to follow his leading into a better life; A qualitative upgrade of our current situation, capacities for experiencing joy and miracles, and overall hapiness. Where would these fishermen be if they had declined Jesus' offer? We wouldnt even know their names by now. Historically they'd be irrelevant. Think about it. Do you want to be mediocre for the rest of your life? Then get up off the boat. Follow Jesus.
Sermon #2
Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel -
[In ten seconds, go!]:Ezekiel 37:11-12: God can restore facets of your life that you, your friends, or society have long since deemed dead. This especially applies to your most cherished ambitions and goals lost to the seemingly irreversibly corrosive sands of the passing of time and also the harsh desert winds of horrible mistakes filled with all of your regrets. God is God of the Resurrection. He can resurrect all things. Wont you return to Him so that He can redeem everything that sin and Satan has told you has been left for dead? Its not too late. Right here, God is saying its never too late for you.
Sermon #3
And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion." But He said, "You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!" -
[In ten seconds, go!]Exodus 33:19-20: Simply put, God is the most awe inspiring, captivating and Enchanting Being. To see His Face would be tantamount to pure ectasy, an exhilaration that would irresistably compel your spirit to leave your body (since flesh and blood cannot inherit God's Kingdom [1 Cor 15:50]) and chase after the most attractive object you would ever desire. You would thereby forsake your ertswhile reality, indeed your former life and cling to God in rapture. Its like Plato's allegory of the caves...how could you go back to living ordinarily once you had reached the apex of pleasurable vision, sentiment, relational intimacy and intellect?
Sermon #4
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
[In ten seconds, go!]Romans 8:28-29: Since Jesus is the firstborn among all men who have conquered death and secured eternal life and Victory (Col. 1:15-18), and by our faith we know he lives in us (John 17:20-23), we, then, can rest confidently in the truth that we too already are the firstborn among all creation around us who will utterly vanquish every adversity that stands in the way of the victorious life predestined for us by God. You may be the first person in your family to choose hope and optimism in the face of financial despair, marital despair, physical infirmities. The first employee at your company who returns love for hate, praying for those who gossip or attempt to sabotage you. You may be the first person amongst all your friends who forsakes pornography, instead embracing purity and cherishing the inherent dignity and wonder of properly expressed human sexuality. You may be the first doctor, lawyer, teacher, in your family, the first person in your country who exercises the spiritual gifts of healing, prophecy, or even raising someone from the dead; Since Jesus promised that we would do greater works than He did (John 14:12), all of this is a possibility to those who believe in Him. Wont you come to know Jesus today by going to Mass? Oh friend, wont you read the Bible and pray for Jesus to reveal Himself to you? What can stand in your way after you do so? He who is in you is greater than any difficulty you may face in life (1 John 4:4). In Him, you can finally get over the hump, and be the firstborn of a new destiny. A winner's destiny. Because Jesus has already defeated everything that stands in your way. I will get married. I will defeat my addiction to alcohol, sex, pornography. I'll get out of debt. My marriage will be restored. My child will be healed. I will be a priest, a nun, a father, a mother. I will get pregnant. This day is the firstborn day of Love.
Sermon #5
But after certain days, Felix came with Drusilla, his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus. And as he reasoned of righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, Go thy way for this time; and when I have a convenient season, I will call thee unto me. He hoped withal that money would be given him of Paul: wherefore also he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him. But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.
[In ten seconds go!] Acts 24:24-27: Truly, we may be fascinated by God, we may even want His presence to linger in our lives, at times beckoning Him to come near, but until we commit our lives fully to Him in Holiness, changing our indulgent and selfish behaviors, wayward and harmful thinking, and the way we treat others, we will never receive the best of His blessings. Why? Because we have condescended to insulted Him as a mere subservient prisoner of our convenience only, parceling Him to fit into convenient, time specific, manageable chunks of our lives. The Bible says God is One: Therefore His time, His love, His Presence, His influence, His desire to lead us to Living Waters, cant be divided and rationed out. God is an indivisible unit, an all pervasive Universal Oneness of Being that refuses to be subdivided. Its all or nothing, hot or cold with our Heavenly Father, either you free Him to be Master of your life (loving Him with all your heart, soul and mind [Matthew 22:37]) or you let Him remain your lackey, missing out on being the person you were destined to be, imprisoning God to watch you be your worst self.
Sermon #6
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
[In ten seconds go!]1 Thessalonians 4:16-18: Saint Paul describes here a fixed future point in time when the Lord will physically remove us from the earth, our ascension into His presence in heaven as a salvation or escape or liberation from sufferings on earth. However, this mind and heart consoling expectation does not necessarily have to be distant from us now or far removed from our current sighs and sorrows. When you, in faith, seek refuge in God through prayer, fasting and obedience to His commands, God can rapture you away from myriad evils today. In His Son Jesus Christ, God can rapture you away from depression and disconsolation due to heartbreak, he can rapture you away from financial penury or barrenness, rapture you away from disease, from loneliness, from hateful and spiteful coworkers or enemies, from a lack of faith and belief in His Goodness; All of this I know from experience. Ask God today, my cool friends, to rapture you away from all your troubles and into His presence tonight, ask Him to rapture you away from being a stranger to Him and into a saving love relationship with the Divine. Do it today. Your ascension awaits!
Sermon #7
And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.
[In ten seconds go!] Luke 23:11-12: Having a common enemy can facilitate amity and accord even amongst the most fervent adversaries. Here Pilate and Herod found that their shared disdain/disregard of Jesus generated a newfound affection for the other. Oh the irony! But within this transaction of emotions we can find hope for ourselves, dear Christian!!! For, if we hate evil with the same strength that Jesus does...how much more will he befriend us and defend us!!! GLORAAAYY!!! How much more will we be friends of God if we, like, He pursue holiness and eschew that contemptible behavior of sin!!! ...."But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. "For My angel will go before you... - Exodus 23:22-23a
